'Ulu/Mū Energy Centers

What is ‘Ulu?

‘Ulu is the oldest, most archaic movement and breathing practice of the ancient Hawaiian people known as Mū.

The word “Ulu” literally means “to enter and inspire,” “to become occupied by a phenomenal force,” and this definition stems from the spirit-light body making initial contact with the avatar (physical body). Upon contact, the movements and breath, mainly that of the simulation of the spiral, allowed the primordial ancestors to become acclimated into form; moving, shifting, breathing to become acquainted with form and the animate.

a return to nature…

The oldest oral doctrines, by way of chant, tell of the circular motion practiced by the 1st civilizations — this circular motion honored the sacred spiral where the core of ones essence, Ea (sovereignty), represents the nucleus of the spiral, what is also known as the singularity.
Some ‘Ohana (lineal families) of the Hawaiian islands can trace this as far back as 5 million linear years making it one of the oldest human doctrines known to Man.

In ‘Ulu, we honor three fundamental energy centers, which all correlate to different tones, frequencies, and specific movements, breath, and incantations. These fundamental energy centers have also been recorded and expressed in the philosophy known as Huna.

The 1st center is:
’Unihipili ~ Base Self, located in the root and sacral area~ the space of memory, subconscious, and where safety is re-affirmed.

The 2nd center is:
’Uhane ~ Middle Self, located in the heart and solar plexus ~ the space of presence, discernment, and innovation.

The 3rd center is:
’Aumākua ~ High Self, located in the third-eye and crown ~ the space of energetic consolidation and exultation, where the masculine and feminine harmonize, and where we experience our highest potential.

The Etheric 4th
The Mū have located a 4th energy center, and it is considered the “etheric center.” Although it does have a name, the utterance of this name is so sacred that it is only spoken in the most sacred prayers and in lieu of speaking the name, instead, we offer our breath and a deep, sharp exhalation is how we honor it.

This center is located just outside the avatar, in the auric field, and is considered “the selfless self.” This is the space of total collapse of separation.

The practice of ‘Ulu, through the recognition of the fundamental energy centers, is how the ancestors invigorated the spinal cord, known as the Iwi Kuamo’o, the place in which the Mū believe to be the storehouse of sacred memory by way of the spinal DNA. This DNA is suspended in the liquid intelligence of the cerebrospinal fluid, called Iwiwai. There is a sacred kulu (substance) which drips from the pineal and pituitary gland to mix with the iwiwai, this conduction creates natural DMT which activates a powerful oscillation within the human avatar, known as Wat-eht(Wadjet). It is this wat-eht which presents the revelation of historical disclosure.

Pōhala offers interactive in-person group workshops of ‘ULU practice facilitated by founder Ke’oni Hanalei. These workshops are offered on all major Hawaiian islands. Visit https://www.pohala.net/workshop to read of any upcoming workshops with their details!
