The power of pain, as an emotion, has a lot to do with sensation and being in the body; it is an aspect of organic nature. There will always be present the discomforts and inconveniences of this reality, and ‘Ōhi’a Lehua teaches us how to recognize sensation as a catalyst for growth, change, corrective action, and evolution. Pain is one of the most obvious aspects of the perspective of a physical realm; understanding it better will allow greater discernment in resourcing it rather than rejecting.

Join Pōhala founder, Ke’oni Hanalei and Ealaea mystic Kaleinohea Cleghorn, as we explore these sacred emotional codes. Let’s discern the importance of emotional PAIN on a sovereign, individual basis, and that of a more expansive, collective software.
This 2-hour interactive workshop begins with a brief sharing of Pua’aehuehu, Fern Medicine, and an introductory oration into the emotion known as PAIN. We will also explain how ‘Ōhi’a Lehua, not an actual Fern, and more related to the honeysuckle, is associated with the pantheon of FERN MEDICINE.
Kaleinohea Cleghorn blesses our space with a toning, weaving a loom to which we may rest in as we explore the emotion of PAIN.
Our discussion will evolve into the actual PULE (incantation), breath, and movement of PAIN medicine — how does divine PAIN move? Is there a prayer for sacred PAIN? If so, what does it sound like?
Second portion of the workshop includes the incorporation of ‘ULU, archaic Hawaiian body movement. Founder, Ke’oni Hanalei, will guide us through a supportive practice to encourage the movement of PAIN throughout the body.
Kaleinohea Cleghorn may weave in further toning, movement and breathing as deemed compatible for where we are in our journey.
Participants are encouraged to tune in from a safe, secure, quiet, space. Participation in the ‘ULU and any other movement portion is highly encouraged, and so we’d also recommend a flat surface to sit on, with yoga mat or towel. Comfort is always suggested!
Third portion of the workshop is to encourage community sharing. This is not a requirement, and those who choose anonymity are supported in their choice to disable video/mute sound. ~ Like my elders taught me… sometimes, just your presence IS your contribution :-)
