Oil of Laha(mū) ~ Ylang Ylang, Cardamom, Kamani Blossom
Lahamu is the ancient Mū name for the planet Venus. Oil of Laha(mū) is our tribute to the divine feminine within. May this sweet and exotic body oil reaffirm the power and highest potential of our sacred feminine.
In honoring the planet of love and intimacy, oil of Laha(mū) ignites our capacity to join in union with others, to cultivate safe spaces of fair expression, nourishment, bonding, and mutual admiration. This oil is not only for gendered women, but also for the brothers who wish to extract their feminine qualities and to become the balanced and powerful man they’ve always known themselves to be. For gendered women, this is a reconciliation of the dormancy of your feminine into exaltation. Rise.
Ingredients:
Ylang Ylang (cananga odorata), harvested ceremonially from the east of Kaua’i Island and North-eastern shore of Maui. Ylang, or “lang” as our Hawaiians aunties would call her, is symbolic of the exotic nature of our feminine. Unlike the masculine, the feminine has a greater capacity of mystery, and is therefore seen as exotic and elusive. Our feminine is what bridges the fantasy into the practical.
Historically, ylang ylang has been resourced medicinally, as a topical oil or tea, spice, as a mood enhancer, to alleviate anxiety, and sooth depression. We attribute this to her power of mystery, allowing those who participate to simply enjoy and to become amused by the journey. *
Cardamom , harvested ceremonially on the slopes of Alaheaakalā on the island of Maui, this spice has been long used as a antioxidant and to lower blood pressure. Like Ylang, she soothes. Cardamom is one of the most ancient spices resourced by our ancestors and therefore represents the grandmother energy of the feminine. The grandmother, calm and wise, is deliberate and patient, she understand and enforces the highest quality and well-being for all.*
Kamani Blossom (Calophyllum Inophyllum), harvested ceremonially from the West end of Maui, Kamani wood and flowers have often been synonymous with Hawaiian craft and design. This is the creative nature of our feminine and where she becomes innovative, decisive, and action-oriented while remaining graceful yet assertive. The more popular Kamani (Tamanu) oil is used as a collagen producer and to aid in rashes and skin ailments. *
Base oil: Evening Primrose, harvested ceremonially from the 6,000ft level of Alaheaakalā on the island of Maui. Evening Primrose, as supplement and oil, has been long used to alleviate depression and anxiety, but uniquely has been attributed to the alleviation of PMS due to its containment of GLA (Gamma Linoleic Acid), an Omega-6 fatty acid that helps the body regenerate after inflammation, so this is super supportive for our brother, too! Regarding PMS, GLA regulates the production of prostaglandins, which are harmone-like chemical messengers involved in supportive hormonal balance especially regarding that of inflammation. For this reason, we believe Evening Primrose to be the physical, mundane aspect of our feminine, ensuring she is well nourished and vital in order to show up for duty! *
