Lokelani Rose, known scientifically as rosa damascena, is regarded as the official flower of the enchanting island of Maui. Transferred to this stunning island over 150 years ago, it has developed a unique variation that is distinctively found only in Maui. For passionate rose enthusiasts, this flower is celebrated as the only true rainforest rose in the entire world

This exquisite hydrosol has been crafted by way of steam distillation in a 5 liter glass distiller. Lokeani petals are harvested in the Hā’iku region of Maui’s north shore. The water resourced for this extraction is from the legendary Īao valley in central Maui. All parts of the harvesting, and distillation process, is done ethically, and ceremonially.

Did you know? ~ the harvesting of rose petals is best done at the powa, or the moment just before dawn. This exact time is believed to be when the rose petals are most saturated with natural oils. In proper protocol, the powa is when we harvest the petals.
